As we mentioned earlier, a pair of Red Breasted Nuthatches have been experimenting with nest building in a dead branch of our crabapple tree. We’ve been keeping an eye on them and the tree daily. Judging by today’s observations, they haven’t decided for sure yet, nor have they laid any eggs. But you can judge for yourself. What do these photos tell you about the state of the nuthatch nest?
